73% of new Jobs in STEM are in Computing

From Computing Careers Market, based on Bureau of Labor and Statistics, we get the following chart: In other words:
For the foreseeable future, nearly 3 out of 4 new science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) jobs in the U.S. are going to be in computing! By contrast, just 16% will be traditional engineering jobs, and even fewer will be in the sciences or mathematics.
It looks like Pac-man. Awesome.

Intern or Entry level developer at Acalytics

Acalytics is an innovative start-up company based in Columbia, SC. We are a team of brilliant programmers, big data / machine learning scientists and UI/Information Architects that are building a next-generation platform for K-12 educational assessments. We have two developers and the CEO/management team in Columbia, two developers in Pakistan and our data scientists and UI/UX designers being based in Palo Alto. We are looking to add some entry level developers and interns to our staff in Columbia, SC. The ideal candidates should have any two (or more) of the following skills or interests:
  • Java or C# .NET
  • Familiar with MVC design patterns
  • You live and breathe Javascript and HTML 5
  • Machine learning or AI algorithm design
  • Mobile app (native or cross-platform)
  • Interest in Big Data and reporting, our data warehouse will be reporting on hundreds of millions of rows
  • Business Intelligence
  • PHP, we don’t respect it but there is some opportunity to use it here
