Incoming freshmen with strong academic records and leadership experiences who are pursuing undergraduate degrees in one of the programs of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering may be selected to receive a Wilson Scholarship. Wilson Scholars will receive up to $1500 per year for four (4) years. In addition, we strongly encourage Wilson Scholars to seek opportunities for paid research with a departmental faculty member. These research opportunities are often used by Honors College students for their senior thesis and frequently lead to published papers and trips to present the papers at conferences. Typical Wilson candidates will have high SAT and GPA scores. Scholarship levels can be up to $1500, depending on the qualifications of the student and scholarship caps due to other scholarships held simultaneously. Incoming Freshmen intending to major in Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or Computer Science who want to be considered for a Wilson Scholarship must complete and submit the on-line general scholarship application by March 23. The Computer Science and Engineering Department expects to notify applicants by email of scholarship offers by the beginning of April.
