The Department of Computer Science at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro invites applicants for a non-tenure-track teaching position (Lecturer or Visiting Faculty), available for the 2018-2019 academic year, to meet the teaching needs in our rapidly growing and vibrant Computer Science program. We are interested in both applicants with an interest in teaching long-term, and those looking to build some teaching experience in a one year appointment.
Responsibilities: This is a non-tenure-track, 9 month appointment that includes the possibility of renewal based on factors including, but not limited to, continued need, satisfactory performance, and availability of funding. The position involves teaching a variety of courses in computer science for majors and non-majors. Teaching assignments will take into account the candidate’s experience and, whenever possible, preferences. The courses will primarily be lower-level undergraduate classes, but if a candidate's experience, qualifications, and interest are appropriate then teaching assignments could include upper-level or master’s level classes. Classes are generally during the day, although an occasional evening section may be required. More information about the department can be found at our web site, http://cs.uncg.edu/
UNCG is proud of the first-rate education it provides for its students. The university is regularly included on Princeton Review's list of “Best Colleges,” and was recently ranked by the nonprofit Educate to Career as one of the top 10 universities in the nation for the value its education offers graduates. UNCG is happy to serve a diverse student body and we seek to attract an equally diverse applicant pool. We are an EEO/AA employer and are strongly committed to increasing faculty diversity.
Qualifications: Minimum qualification is a master's degree (or equivalent graduate-level credit) in Computer Science.
Deadline: We will review applications as they arrive, and continue until the position is filled.
Contact: Questions, informal inquiries, and applications should be addressed to Dr. Stephen Tate, email@example.com. Applications should include a letter of application describing interest in the position, CV, information on prior teaching experience (with copies of teaching evaluations if possible), and the names, telephone numbers and email addresses of at least (3) three professional references.
