The Center for Information Assurance Engineering (CIAE) is a research and educational unit at the University of South Carolina (USC) . It is a part of the ongoing effort at USC to increase information systems security awareness and develop high quality education and research in this area. Faculty and students associated with the CIAE are working in a broad spectrum of security topics and issues. Our programs are regularly reviewed by our Industry Advisory Board members.

The National Center of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity (NCAE-C) Programs are lead by the National Security Agency. The Program of Study for the CAE-CD is offered by the Department of Computer Science in the Molinaroli College of Engineering and Computing. The Point of Contact for the CAE-CD and CAE-R programs is Professor Csilla Farkas.

The University Information Security Office supports education and research by coordinating incident response and advocating for Information Technology through the Deputy Chief Information Officers. They provide services for cybersecurity awareness and training, incident response, security liaisons, security policies and standards, and compliance with requirements.
