Intel Internship
Given below is the description of the extended intern opportunity here in the Columbia Intel Corporation office. It is a full-time position. All candidates must meet Intel’s basic Intern requirements.
Basic Intern eligibility requirements:
a. Minimum 3.0/4.0 GPA
b. Enrolled and/or accepted student at a 4 year college
c. Permanent right to work in the U.S.
Qualifications
Ideal candidate would be a rising senior in Computer Science or Computer Engineering with interest in Linux Operating System programming, strong C programming skills, and strong analytical and debug skills. Experience with Web site development and source code control tools would be advantageous.
Responsibilities
Job Description: Software development and debug as a member of the SVOS (System Validation Operating System) team. SVOS is a Linux based OS with enhancements to support validation of Intel processors and chipsets. Assignments will provide the opportunity to build and test releases of SVOS on Virtual Platforms used to model new silicon, to debug and code solutions for Linux driver or kernel failures, and to redesign or enhance the SVOS team Web site used to communicate with and train SVOS users.
Timeframe: a 3 month summer internship or a 6 month internship beginning May/June 2012.
