Study Guide – Final Examination

Exam Schedule

The final examination for CSCE 522 will be given on Monday, December 5, at 9 am. A maximum of three hours will be allowed. It will be closed book and closed notes. Calculators are not allowed; there are no calculations on the exam. Please request permission before leaving the room for personal breaks if needed. Arrangements with APOGEE students will be made individually.

IMPORTANT NOTE: THE EXAM WILL NOT BE GIVEN IN THE USUAL CLASSROOM. IT WILL BE IN SWEARINGEN 2A27.

Exam Coverage

The examination will cover lecture material and assigned reading from the text.

Chapter 2 -- all

Chapter 3 – all

Chapter 4 – all except

Section 4.2: Memory and Address Protection

Chapter 5 – all except

Section 5.6: Implementation Examples

Chapter 6 – all

Chapter 7 – all

Chapter 8 – all

Chapter 9 – all

Chapter 10 – basic concepts only

Emphasis will be placed on material not covered on the first two examinations.

Exam Format

Examination questions will include definitions, short answer, and problems. Definitions will be chosen from terms listed at the ends of chapters (Terms and Concepts). Some questions will be taken from the text, possibly with some modification (Exercises and chapter text). You should not expect that all questions will draw upon material from exactly one chapter.
