Using CSDTs to Stimulate Learning in the Classroom

In this research, the objective is to find one or more SC mandated mathematics standard(s) that can be applied or adapted to a culturally situated design tool to assist in effectively teaching such standard(s). The purpose is the try to find a possible new and innovative way to teach a given topic. If successful, the use of a culturally situated design tool in lesson plan could increase the rate at which students relate to the teaching of standards, and possibly increase test scores and retention rates.
