The School of Music is in need of some short-term quality assistance with Macintosh OS desktop support and lab-related issues. We need help over the next few weeks, and maybe into October. We desire to fill this part-time position as soon as possible. Examples of the help that is needed is as follows: 1. Assist daily with computer-related issues reported by School of Music faculty and staff 2. Manage the physical setup of a Mac Lab and a new GA office space which has undergone construction and is soon to be completed. 3. Complete other assigned tasks related to simple Mac OS X server issues. We are looking for someone who can dedicate 10-25 hours per week, and we can pay $20/hour. The ideal assistance would be provided by someone who can work mostly without supervision, and is capable of solving minor to possibly complex issues related to Mac OS X desktop computing. The majority of work will involve interaction with School of Music faculty and staff, therefore a professional demeanor and good communication skills are necessary. Hours worked can be flexible, but specific hours will need to be dedicated on Thursdays and Fridays each week. The School of Music is almost 100% Macintosh based. Individuals who posses little or no experience with Mac OS X need not apply. If you know of anyone with appropriate skills, and interested in a temporary part-time job, please have them contact me directly. The most efficient means of communication would be to send a brief resume, specifically showing Mac OS X related skills, to jtrenary@sc.edu. Initial contact by phone isn't preferable. A phone interview and in-person interview will commence before hire.
