Assignments

For each week, you will need to have the listed assignments completed and submitted by midnight on the listed date. The questions I have listed for each chapter are not to be turned in, they are suggested as good practice. Each week you will have a quiz also to be done by the end of the week. This will be adminstered by blackboard.

Week 1 (ending January 15th):

Screencasts for Week 1

Read Chapter 1 in text.
Questions: p28: Exercises 1-10, 40, 41, 42, 48, 50, 51, 52, 57.

Lab 1 - handout
Lab 1 - assignment [both handout and lab assignment posted on blackboard] (This lab will be due submitted to blackboard by January 15th at midnight). Please do not wait until the last minute. The blackboard system will not accept anything past midnight.

There will be no quiz this week. The quiz at the end of Week 2 will cover the material from both Week 1 and 2. After Week 2, there will be a quiz each week on the material covered that week. This will be administered by blackboard.

Week 2 (ending January 22nd):

Questions: p543: Exercises 1-12, 24, 25, 26, 27, 29, 36, 38, 63, 65, 67.

Quiz 1 - needs to be taken by midnight on the 22nd on blackboard. It will cover all material from the assigned readings, labs and screencasts. Please make sure you allow enought time for this quiz before the deadline. The quiz (unlike the tests and final will be open book but please make sure your work is your own).


Week 3 (ending January 29th):

Questions: p517: Exercises 1-6, 16-20, 26, 28, 30, 31, 35, 41, 42, 43, 44, 47, 48, 55, 56, 61, 62.

Week 6 (ending February 19th):

Lab 6 (due Feb. 19th by midnight).

Test 1 is coming up very soon. The test review will be up on blackboard under course documents Monday. I will email and post test times as soon as we have our room finalized.

Week 7 (ending February 26th):

Lab 7 (due February 26th by midnight).

Test 1 is this week - February 23rd at 8pm or February 25th at 3pm, both in Sumwalt 305. The test review is posted on blackboard under "Course Documents" and it has directions for finding the building if you need them.

Week 8 (ending March 11th):

Final Exam is Thursday, April 26th at 8pm or Saturday, April 28th at 12:30pm.. Do not be late for the exam. We only have an hour allocated for the room and have to start and leave promptly. Exam review is up on blackboard under "Course Documents".
