Dr. James P. Davis - Personal

Bio Sketch

I provide this section on my web site to give those who might have interest some background into who I am.  It is my philosophy to get to know the people I work with, regardless of the capacity in which I interact with them. Here's my Curriculum Vitae/Resume (PDF) if you're interested.  See here for list of publications here or on my Research page.  If you want a more detailed narrative, then please check out my posting on the Bio Page link.

Photography

I have been fortunate to work and live in both Europe and Asia, and have traveled extensively in these parts of the world.  I enjoy photography--not simply for the sake of capturing images of a place to show others--but also to seek out something of the essence, the feeling, of a place through its architecture, people, customs, landscapes, etc.  One place where I have been able to do this extensively is in Japan, as I have lived and/or worked in Japan, on and off, for the past 13 years.  I have assembled some pictures from my most recent time living in Japan. Check out my Photography Page link.

Music

I've moved it, and I've put more it out for you to listen to, if you want.  So see my separate Music Page link.  People kept asking whether I had any more.  Hey man, I got tons of it...more than you will ever want to hear!  Most of it is crap, all of it is unpolished, but this is one area about which I don't care about "peer review".  Enjoy.

Readings & Recommendations

I am really overboard when it comes to books, and have a large library of books of all types.  I am mainly reading science, history, philosophy/religion titles at present, and I think I am currently reading somewhere between 4-6 books simultaneously.  Here's some titles I've recently read (within the past year or so) that I would highly recommend.  I've moved them to a separate page, so see my separate Readings Page link.
