Building Ontologies
note:
Inserting Nodes
Overview
Ontologies are represented by means of Entity-Relationship
(ER) diagrams. ER diagram is a graph in which nodes
are either entities, attributes, or relationships,
and the arcs between nodes represent relationships between
corresponding nodes in the graph.
JOE also uses ER diagrams to represent ontologies.
JOE represent entities
by blue
rectangle, attributes
by
green elipses,
and relationships by either yellow
diamond or pink
hexagon.
note: JOE does not allow users to insert attributes
alone; user must pick the parent entity first.

Deleting Nodes
To delete nodes follow the steps described below:
Adding a new concept (Frame/Entity) to the current ontology
Inserting a new entity is done by means of the dialog window
shown below.
This window is invoked by the following three steps:
(If you don't like the placement, you can always move it later).
Adding a new properties (Slots/Attributes) to the current ontology
Adding new attributes to an existing entity or editing
old ones is done by means of the dialog window shown below
This window is invoked by the following three steps:
Creating new relations in the current ontology
Creating new relations is described
